Dr. Rakesh Mohankumar
Assistant Professor of Medical Imaging, University of Toronto
Joint Department of Medical Imaging, University Health Network
Teaching Philosophy
Rakesh teaches the way he reads MSK studies—anatomy first, then mechanism, then pattern. He believes most diagnostic errors in MSK imaging are search and pattern errors, not knowledge gaps, so his teaching emphasizes structured search, recognition of the few mimics that matter, and honest discussion of the cases where the right call only becomes obvious in hindsight. Trainees walk away with checklists they actually use on call, not just facts they memorize for exams.
